I was lucky to be accepted at 16 to go to Art College and studied Graphic Design for 4 years. After graduating I worked briefly as a Graphic Designer but quickly found it stifled my creativity, so then my artistic brother and me set up a business called R Werk. Initially we produced paintings but then we got a chance to customize Dr Martens boots with our designs for Dr Martens’ store in Covent Garden, London. We did this for 6 years and later did our own projects.

Throughout the years I have learnt I enjoy working spontaneously. It all started with the black biro illustrations that take me on subconscious journeys to a world far more interesting than the physical normality. I have now started working like this with my ceramics and love this process, as I’m constantly surprised and intrigued to view where my mind has taken me.

My eyes, ears and mind are forever open to new ideas, which means I have many influences. These can range from Pre-Raphaelite art, Art Nouveau style, Asian and African culture to all kinds of Fashion, Architecture, Music, Nature, Animation etc.
